Case Study

Kama Ayurveda launches in 2002 with a range of nine Ayurvedic treatments, developed in partnership with the 75-year-old Arya Vaidya Pharmacy in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. These remedies are developed to help treat existing skin and hair concerns, and to prevent future ones – effective, authentic, time-tested and balanced. "In a desire to share this wealth of knowledge with the rest of the world, the co-founders reach South India, the land of authentic Ayurvedic wellness solutions. This was the inception of Kama Ayurveda, bringing the desire for beauty through Kama, the Hindu God of Desire, through the lens of Ayurveda, the science of life."

Project Overview

Kama Ayurveda was running their online store on Magento 2.2 and was doing decent online revenues, however it was time for them to scale. The mobile design was outdated along with the product browsing feature. The checkout process needed to be more user friendly with minimum clicks to complete the transaction. The coupon mechanism and the integration of payment partners and delivery aggregator was not seamless and required access to multiple dashboards

Objective

We proposed to upgrade the website to the latest version of Magento 2.3.2 with more comprehensive features. Options for a user to choose product between “by category” or “by concern” was introduced. Just arrived section to be highlighted.

Collectively we agreed to launch a separate mobile UI/UX which would work from the same admin panel.


  • Improve brand equity and online reach through branded storytelling

  • Improve overall site architecture and navigation to enable easier browsing and a more frictionless experience

  • Improve the experience and usability of the Store Finder via robust Google Maps API integrations

  • Create a more user-friendly and more visual product story with improved navigation and filtering

  • Create a user-friendly Resources section with filtering and searching to ensure maximum value to user

  • Implement a fully mobile responsive solution backed by Magento CMS

Deliverables

The new Kama Ayurveda mobile site is vastly outperforming the old site when it comes to visitors engaging with their content. The site is attracting significantly more users than ever before, and more pages viewed in the average session. Their page speeds have increased, and we’ve set up tracking on several new data points to help their team measure performance.
